Air Conditioning Cabinets

Tangent Forming Air Conditioning Cabinets
(Combination Form Press, Tangent Former & Clinch Lock Unit)

Tangent Former bends a 1-1/4″ – 90° flange across the top front of the housing as it forms the two (2) sides vertical to produce the three (3) sided wrapper. The back flange corners are overlapped and the Tangent Former Clinch Locks them together while holding them 90°. The unit Punches three (3) Clinch Locks at each corner.

Designed to final form the Pre-Punched, Notched, and Embossed blank into the finished full wrapper cabinet. Part is Pre-Painted with high gloss powder coat with back flanges Pre-Former.

Air Make-Up Units

 

This line was designed and manufactured by Custom Rollform Products for a manufacturer of air make-up units. The main body or structural enclosures of these units consist of two basic components, the frame rails and the intermediate supports.

Both the frame rail and the intermediate support are manufactured from 16 gauge pre-painted or galvanized mild steel and both are produced from the same coil slit width.

The complete coil fed, punch, notch, rollform and endform system consist of a dual mandrel Decoiler, powered feeder straightener with sonic loop control, a series of pre-tooled hydraulic punch, notch dies with a programmable rollfeed, a special pre-tooled 24 station rollformer and two complete sets of cut-off and endform presses.

Combination Curl, Weld Seam & Beading Unit produces a variety of Venturi & Damper Housings. Destack, Feed & Curling Unit produce parts 6″ to 36″ wide. Both ends are beaded at the same time.

Auto Flue Pipe Dual Flanging System

 

This system was designed to form 1/2″ Flanges on both ends of the pre-welded galvanized and stainless steel flue pipe. The Automated Dual Flanging Heads form up to 18 gauge in diameters from 6″ to 48″ and in lengths ranging from 12″ to 60″ long. Length Change-overs are accomplished in less than one minute.

Custom Rollform is more than rollform equipment and applications. We are one of a few equipment manufacturing companies that can design and manufacture complete turnkey fabrication systems. We are not a component integrator that ties various systems and components together from a variety of manufacturers. Everything you see on this video was designed and manufactured by a single source manufacturer (Custom Rollform Products). All the programmed electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems were designed and integrated by Custom Rollform to insure you get years of service from a single source supplier.

This is a coil feed notching, punching, rollforming and tangent form applications integrated into a complete automation system. This system consists of two (2) rollform systems to simultaneously manufacture the two (2) fan components required for this Box Fan Application. As the parts are fabricated they are fed directly into a series of forming and assembly operations to toggle lock the housing together, insert the motor mount struts, then clinch lock the struts into the fan housing.

E Stud & Track Line

 

The E-Stud Line is compact and designed for the light commercial industry. Its unitized construction allows it to be taken to the job site, relocated within the plant where needed or easily stored between jobs or applications. This is not a light duty, chain drive, portable, job site throw away. The E-Stud eliminates extensive coil change-overs and roll spacer tooling set-ups. Once you understand all the features the E-Stud provides, nothing else will compare in price, for years of dependable service.

Our Variable Width Rollform design positions the roll tooling with a simple leadscrew handwheel. The variable tooling design allows the operator to make width change-overs in less than a minute.

Electrical Wireway Enclosures

 

Electrical Wireway is produced 1′ to 10′ in 1′ increments. Sizes range from 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ to 12″ x 12″ in square and rectangular styles. Top flanges vary to accommodate a variety of hinge and screw cover designs.

A continuous knockout pattern is punched down both sides in a variety of patterns. The design is a programmable coil fed punch, notch, and cut-to-length system to produce completed knockout blanks feeding them directly into the form press. Blanks are conveyed and positioned into the form press for an automatic programmable feed form cycle.

Two profiles pre-tooled side by side for a quick change over. Three sided frame with mating end frame sections are produced on the same coil feed, notch, punch rollform line. Produces a wide variety of full wrapper filter frames.

Two rollform lines, using a Combined Control System, produce Full Wrapper Fire Damper Frames and corresponding Blades.

The Operator Entry System produces an infinite variety of frame sizes and quantities as it downloads the blade line for a consistent product flow to the assembly area.

Fluorescent Lens Frame Rollform System

 

Coil Strip Feed and Rollform System designed and built by Custom Rollform Products, Inc. The Automated System is designed to form 2′ x 2′ and 2′ x 4′ fluorescent light fixture lens frames directly from steel coil strip stock. The System consists of a pallet style uncoiler, several punch, notch, emboss, cut-off press/dies, and pre-tooled rollformer.

Coil Feed, Punch, Notch, Rollform & Cut-To-Length to manufacture a wide variety of 14 Ga. one piece Full Wrapper Angle Frames for HVAC duct applications.

Programmable Feed produces frames 4″ x 4″ to 48″ x 72″ in any combination with no scrap loss. Eliminates set-up and change-overs.

Furnace Cabinet Line

 

This system was designed and built for a major manufacturer of furnace and air conditioning equipment.

Starting form Pre-Punched and Notch Blanks, we developed an On-Time Production Cell to feed and form the Pre-Painted Cabinet Shells directly onto the Infeed Conveyor. Utilizing a Destack and Feed Rollformer and Four Ram Tangent Endformer, the blanks are fed and formed and staged to operate as a Just-In-Time Part Call-Up System.

The Endformer will form pre-rollformed panes into final formed three-sided cabinets in five different depths, four widths and two heights. The Outer Rams will form a 90° flange on both ends and the Inner Rams will form the cabinet into a three-sided Wrapper. The parts are threaded directly from the Feed Conveyor, formed then ejected laterally onto the next conveyor to the assembly area.

Pre-painted Furnace Cabinet System Blank Feed with 8 position Stack Tower, Pre-Notch & Punch, Rollform & Programmable Tangent Wing Form End Form Three Sided Wrapper Cabinet.

The Double Stack Tower retrieved the pre-cut blanks from eight (8) different skidded stacks.

This was a blank feed, punch and notch system feeding the part directly through the Rollformer to from the top and bottom edge flanges. The Tangent Wingformer formed the lead and trail front edge flanges then final formed the part into a three (3) sided wrapper housing.

Gun Safes

 

This system produced full wrapped four (4) sided housing ranging from 24″ x 24″ to 36″ x 72″ in three (3) depths (strip widths). The Coil Feed, Notched, Punched, Rollformed and Tangent Formed housings are complete and automatic. The front flange (4″ with a 2″ return) was Rollformed simultaneously with the 1-1/2″ back flange.

The Notched and Rollformed wrapper was fed directly into the programmed Tangent Former to produce the completed formed four (4) sided housing.

Safes are produced on a just-in-time basis with no set-up or scrap loss when changing part sizes within the coil width and gauge range.

The H.D. Stud Line was developed by Custom Rollform Products as an Economical System to manufacture Stud and Track on a just-in-time basis. It offers the latest concepts in quick-change set-ups that allow you to convert from Stud to Track in less than a minute. This allows manufacturers of Pre-fabricated Housings and Major Contractors to produce cut-to-length sections On-time and as needed without hours of Set-ups, Coil Changes and Excessive Scrap Loss.

The main feature that really makes this system great is our Variable Head Rollformer that positions the roll tooling with simple leadscrew handwheel in less than a minute. We’ve designed optional features that eliminates a coil changeover between Stud and Track which is a real time saver. This allows you to run and/or bundle everything (Stud and Track) as needed for a wall or section on a just-in-time basis.

Custom Rollform Products, Inc. designed and manufactured this Heavy Gauge Coil Cut-To-Length & Punching System for a major supplier of racking and material handling components.

From initial concept to final production run-off and installation at the customer’s facility, Custom Rollform Products handled all aspects of the project.

Light Diffuser System

 

System produces the high polished aluminum Linear and Lateral Diffuser Blades and Outer Frame Sections for 1-½” and 3″ deep light diffusers.

The Notch, Punch and Tab Presses are mounted on two separate Die Beds which allows the operator to set-up for the next run while running product on the other set-up.

The pre-cut and notched parts are then fed directly into a specially designed Hydraulic Forming Press. The press positions the parts within the Die, forms the part in a two-stage sequence, then ejects the part from the opposite side.

A Rollformer is used to form the front and back outer edge flanges and adjust automatically for the width variable required. Two (2) Tangent Endformers form the 90° lead and trail ends of the housings. Two (2) Programmed Radius Tangent Forming Units form the 1-1/2″ radius corners to produce the “U” Shape or four (4) sided Full Wrapper Housings. Full Wrapper Housings are then held and spot welded inline within the Tangent Forming Unit.

Picture Frame Rollformer

 

Rollformer produces a wide variety of Metal Picture Frames form high polished laminated coil strip. System embosses the strip & rollforms the frames. Notch, Cope & Cut-Off Dies produce frames 2″ x 3-1/2″ to 11″ x 17″ at up to 40 per minute. Three (3) frame profiles pre-tooled for a quick change-over.

Automatic programmable slit and shear line. 60″ wide 14 GA. With two (2) Programmable Shears. Slitter Heads are automatically positioned based on quantities and width/length variables. Can produce a variety of single blank sizes with no set-up and a minimum of scrap loss.

Our Programmable Slit and Shear Line is unique in design and the most flexible Blanking System on the market. It virtually eliminates Slitter set-ups and change-overs greatly reducing scrap loss between width and length variables.

Shelf Fabrication

 

The following application is a complete coil feed system to manufacture a wide variety of shelves from 18 gauge galvanized mild steel. The system is designed to pre-notch and punch the strip, rollform the two (2) side profiles in a single pass through operation, endform both ends and toggle lock all four (4) corners in a fully automatic line system.

The shelves are produced in five (5) basic widths from 8″ to 30″ wide in lengths from 13″ to 52″ long. Part lengths within the same coil strip width can be run in any quantity or order without additional set-ups or scrap loss.

The rollformer features our special variable head concept that varies the form rolls and part profile with a leadscrew / handwheel setting in less than a minute. The pre-notch and punch press dies are also set-up with leadscrew settings with micrometer readouts for a quick change application. All the line settings can be changed in approximately five to ten minutes to accommodate coil and part width variables.

Two Stage Form Press System

 

This 2-Stage Plenum Form Press Operation was designed to final form pre-punched and notched blanks. The parts were clinched inline which eliminated secondary operations for riveting.

The system drastically increased production capacity along with improved part quality.

Unistrut Channel Production System

 

This system was designed to form, punch, and cut-to-length Unistrut Channels directly from coil stock. The system allowed the customer to produce custom length channels from 3″ to 20′ long with an infinite variety of hole punch sizes and patterns.

Variable Head Rollformer

 

The system shown incorporated our Variable Width Roll Tooling and Programmable Index Feed Drive. The width of the tooling or part is varied with a simple Hand Wheel Lead Screw Setting. Roll width set-up can be performed in less than a minute.

We take pride in the technical designs and concepts we have introduced over the years to increase the productivity and accuracy of our Rollform Systems. We have led the field for over 20 years developing programmable Index Feeds, Multiple Pre-Tooled Rollformers, Variable Width Rollform Tooling and a wide variety of quick-change tooling and set-up concepts.

This Free Standing Variable Width Rollform Machine, designed and built by Custom Rollform Products, Inc. in St. Louis, MO, forms Channel Sections for Steel Rack Storage Systems from pre-cut strips.
